Just finished a brand new Mini Remin.

 Mini Remin Technical specifications:

• - 2 oscillators
  
• - Span: 2 and 1/2 octaves approx.
• - Output level (line): 1,8 Vpp approx.
• - Power: 9Vbattery
• - Output: line
• - Commands: zero beat, volume.
• - Raimbow Led indicator.

The two handles maybe add a gentle touch to the Ikea Foodbox...

Steampunk theremin: the making

Building a Steampunk theremin is a tough challenge, but I could count on some friends' help both for design and manual help. Thanks to Barbara for the styling and to Sergio for woodworking, wiring, plumbing...

We started from a base concept and a few parts:

 

Then we began the work by conditioning a Jeroboam wine bottle's wooden box:

Then uhm, you have to choose the parts's placement.

On the workbench, after drilling, before elctrical wirings...

I'm building yet one more Mini Remin. The MR is now a well tuned design. I'ts been around for a while, and several MR of different colours have hit the stage. People like the IKEA case and the see-through LED. Buffer stage tends to saturate at high volume, giving a fuzzy sound when required.
I've recently made a few minor improvements of the design.


It is the simplest design but the output is 'sound' and the performing feedback sharp and nice to play. It requires a bit of practice but eventually gives you that provoking sound and feel.
